CORSAIR Three-Dimensional Unsteady Viscous Flow Analysis/WILDCAT Two-Dimensional Unsteady Viscous Flow Analysis

Software Description

CORSAIR is a three-dimensional unsteady Navier-Stokes analysis used for
solving flows in rotating turbo machinery components. Characteristics of the
code include:

  1. Implicit time-marching integration of the full or thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations
  2. Third-order discretization of the in viscid fluxes
  3. Second-order discretization of the viscous fluxes
  4. Second-order temporally accurate
  5. Newton sub-iterations to eliminate factorization and linearization errors
  6. Highly-modified Baldwin-Lomax turbulence model
  7. Steady and unsteady inlet/exit boundary conditions
  8. Specified heat flux, temperature or transpiration solid wall boundary conditions
  9. O-H grid multi-block topology, O-grids used to discretize tip region
  10. Arbitrary blade motion
  11. Parallel capability via MPI
  12. Able to solve multi-passage, multi-row (including counter-rotating) geometries
  13. Transition prediction capability
  14. Capable of handling collapsing centerlines
  15. Output files appropriate for design and analysis

CORGRD is the grid generator written to accompany the CORSAIR analysis. The
grid generator produces overlaid O-H grids for rotating turbomachinery components,
including those with tip clearance and varying endwall radii.

WILDCAT is the two-dimensional counterpart of CORSAIR.
